Fascinating post from Seth Godin the other day asking a devastatingly simple question...do ads work?
The point Seth makes is that if an ad truly works...that is, if it makes you money...then why do you have a budget that limits how much you spend on ads?
It's a question that can be applied to all marketing and brand budgets and activities. Are you spending money on stuff that works? If so, why are you limiting that spend? Or, as seems likely, are you spending money on stuff that doesn't work? If so, why are you bothering at all?
Great food for thought as we begin a year of serious change, challenge, and opportunity...
