Seth Godin is full of interesting ideas. His latest one is to offer an alternative MBA...essentially six months of unpaid (but also free) working with (and learning from) him. His plan really resonates with me as I have been thinking recently about how we should offer more apprenticeship-style opportunities to people who are not well-suited to traditional academic learning.
The details of Seth's scheme are all here on his blog and on this Squidoo lens. Read it all. Tell someone about it who might just be up for jumping on a plane to New York next month and changing the way they think. And think about it for yourself (I know I am).
The chances are you won't feel like applying. But, either way, it's a great reminder that in order to get where you want you occasionally have to take some big risks and make some big sacrifices.
